This project is inspired by Emery! Unfortunately I never got to meet her. In 2018 I was the face painter at her birthday party, there was Disney princesses, games music even a pony.... all except little Emery Smith. She lost her battle with Neuroblastoma in 2017 She was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma at only two years old. As a father of six this hit so close to home, my youngest looked a lot like her and was the same age. I saw a lot pictures of her and saw haunting similarities in the two girls. We had recently had to shave her head because of a gum incident and to top it all off one picture of Emery with her little shaved head was wearing a Disney princess dress, the same one my daughter had. Every since I meet Emery's family and got to paint all her little friends faces, I have had a new appreciation for life and tell my kids I love them and hug them so much more often and every moment seems so much more precious.
